● Gatherings
Community Events
Gather hosts monthly community events on the last Sunday of every month. Each month we unpack a topic related to wellbeing - focusing on themes like stress, anxiety, relationships, friendships, body image and perfectionism.
Throughout each workshop, Alissa facilitates group learning and understanding around these themes by giving each participant the space to reflect and share about their own thoughts and experiences while paired with someone new.
We hope that this community gives you the space to learn, grow, create and move alongside new friends that see you and understand you. Community connection is so important. And we’re so excited to welcome you into ours.
● Event Overview
What To Expect
Each event explores a different topic related to wellbeing. Throughout the session, Alissa facilitates shared learning and small-group discussion, creating space for open conversation, reflection, and connection so participants can learn from and alongside one another.
Event Structure
Start - Welcome & Intro (5-10 mins before start time)
Time for you to chat, connect and get settled in the space.
Collective Learning and Discussion (~ 1 hour)
Group learning and guided conversation around the topic or the theme of the event.
Mindful Activity (~1 hour)
Each event includes an activity at the end where we can create, move or engage in mindful activity alongside each other. This gives everyone the chance to connect further before the event comes to a close.
Event Wrap up (~ 5 - 10 mins)
Time to wrap up and say goodbye - there’s always time to hang around and connect after the event ends.
RULES
Gather events are an inclusive space that honours lived experience. We welcome everyone without judgment and expect our event attendees to contribute to the emotional safety of the event space.
RITUALS
Our events always have a topic or a theme to focus on during the event. This topic is the main point of discussion during the conversational element of the event, and there will always be an activity that accompanies the topic. This activity helps promote self care while also facilitating further connection within the group as we move, laugh, create and experience together.
RHYTHMS
We meet on the last Sunday of every month. Same time (1-3 pm). Same place (Woolongabba Substation).
The consistency of this rhythm allows you to make a commitment to yourself. On the last Sunday of every month you get the chance to explore wellbeing topics and join a community bigger than yourself.

Community Life Drawing Event: Body Image and Self Perception
This event explores body image and self-perception through open conversation and a life drawing session.
We’ll begin with guided discussion exploring body neutrality and how we relate to our bodies beyond appearance. The focus is on shifting away from appearance-based thinking and developing a more compassionate, grounded perspective.
We’ll then move into a one-hour life drawing session with nude model Jaiden from @laedbare, offering a chance to slow down, observe, and connect with the human body in a creative, non-judgemental space.

Nervous System Reset: Yoga and Sound Bath
This event focuses on nervous system regulation through guided conversation, gentle movement, and sound healing.
We’ll begin with group discussion exploring how to regulate the nervous system, why it matters, and practical tools you can use in everyday life. The session is designed to make these ideas simple, relatable, and actionable.
We’ll then move into a 30-minute slow-flow yoga class, followed by a 30-minute sound bath led by Rosie from @thesundayresetretreat. Using crystal bowls and calming sound, this final session is designed to support deep relaxation and grounding.
